After last year's incredible success, we're bringing back the Salmon & Tuna Derby – the ultimate way to close out the fishing season on Haida Gwaii, one of the most remote and spectacular coastlines in Canada.

Target trophy salmon and longfin tuna in the pristine waters at the "edge of the world." Whether you're an experienced angler bringing your own boat or looking to charter one of our boats with qualified captains, this derby offers world-class fishing, incredible camaraderie, and the chance to land the fish of a lifetime.

Haida Gwaii delivers late-season action like nowhere else – clear skies, active fish, and the thrill of competition against the backdrop of rugged Pacific beauty. This is your shot at glory, prizes, and unforgettable memories before the season wraps.

Fishing Daily – Tuna & Salmon
All derby days feature open fishing for Long Fin Tuna and Salmon, with daily weigh-ins at the Sandspit Marina.

• Bring your own boat – trailer it in and compete on your term

• Limited boat rentals with qualified captains available for you and your crew

• Prizes for top catches in multiple categories

Itinerary includes:

Welcome Dinner hosted by the Clubhouse at Hekate’s Retreat

Daily BBQ during weigh in (4-6pm)

Awards Dinner hosted by Sandspit Adventures.
