Get ready to fish the edge — the Long Fin Tuna Poke Derby is returning to Haida Gwaii for an epic week of Tuna and Salmon fishing, community connection, and coastal celebration. Running August 27 – September 1, and hosted by Sandspit Adventures and Hekate’s Retreat, this derby blends competitive sport with laid-back island hospitality.

With cash prizes, nightly feasts, a community dance, and off-day golf and pickleball, it’s a full-on experience both on the water and ashore. Whether you're chasing the biggest Tuna or trolling for Salmon, you'll be part of something wild and unforgettable.

All derby days feature open fishing for Long Fin Tuna and Salmon, with daily weigh-ins at the Sandspit Marina. Fish hard, fish smart — every pound counts toward your shot at the podium.
